James Ongige born September 4 2003, is a young kenyan rapper, singer, filmmaker, record producer and actor. He is an upcoming artist considered by many faces of rap and film. Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, Ongige began his musical career at a young age of 13 years old with his debut single "Outta 23" in 2019.

Early life

James Ongige was born on September 4, 2003, in Nairobi, Kenya, mother being Gladys Moraa and late father, Willy Ongige. He has 3 brothers and he is the youngest of them. Ongige attended Nduru Boys High School from 2017 to 2020, then later joined Kenya Institute of Mass Communication to study film. He started music and acting while in highschool. James started acting in school drama festivals and stage theatre acts while on holidays at home.

Career

James Ongige started his music career as “Rapking” when he released his debut single “Outta 23” in 2019. He then formed a group, Wamunyota Gang, but left the group that same year. In April 2021, he released a collaborated single track “Danger” featuring Gashu and MK under the new name (Quafff) , before reverting back to his birth name in 2025, with the launch of Lohkast, a multidisciplinary creative collective.
